Woman Works On Christmas Project, Months In Advance, To Spread Joy To Often-Forgotten Elderly

Decatur, Illinois (by Billie Branham) - Wooden Christmas trees and angels are being built, painted, and gathered for elderly in assistant living homes, well ahead of the holiday. Beth Langdon created the project with the idea to spread joy during the pandemic lockdown.

“I used to work in homecare. I just felt terrible for those people being basically trapped in there without having any access to any type of Christmas activities.”

Each tree or angel comes with a note attached.

The project grew quickly. Beth enlisted the help of volunteers from her church, Mount Calvary Lutheran Church.

Beth says the residents get the Christmas trees and the workders get the angels. Hear ways Beth is trying to spread the project to other communities:
