8 Praiseworthy Prayers

Praise is a part of prayer (talking to God) where we are simply giving God the recognition he deserves. The Bible gives us many ways to express praise. We can lift our hands, clap our hands, sing songs, dance like King David, give thanks or verbally tell God how awesome He is. Whatever way you choose to worship it needs to be with all of your heart. Here are some prayers to help you find words to express your praise to God. Let them inspire you to praise God more and more because he is worthy!

Here are eight prayers to help give praise and thanksgiving.

8 Praiseworthy Prayers God, I thank you that you are not a small ‘god’ overwhelmed by problems. You are the God of heaven who is great and awesome. You are faithful to keep your covenant of unfailing love with those who love you. Help me to trust in your promises today. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen. K-LOVE

“Then I said, “O Lord, God of heaven, the great and awesome God who keeps his covenant of unfailing love with those who love him and obey his commands.”

- Nehemiah 1:5 NLT

8 Praiseworthy Prayers Father, I thank you for being in control of the heavens and everything here on the earth. Because you made the heavens and the earth, you sustain the heavens and the earth. I praise you for sustaining everything that goes on in my life. K-LOVE

“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.”

- Genesis 1:1 NLT

8 Praiseworthy Prayers Father, I praise you for knowing me better than I know myself. Thank you for knowing everything about me precisely and loving me fully. You know my thoughts even when I’m far away. Because your knowledge is so vast and too great for me to understand, I praise you. Amen. K-LOVE

“O Lord, you have examined my heart and know everything about me. You know when I sit down or stand up. You know my thoughts even when I’m far away. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too great for me to understand!”

- Psalm 139:1-2 NLT

8 Praiseworthy Prayers Lord, thank you that no power in the sky above or in the earth below can separate me from the love of God; To never be separate from your love is exhilarating. Jesus, I praise you for your eternal, inseparable love that upholds me, Amen. K-LOVE

“No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.“

- Romans 8:39 NLT

8 Praiseworthy Prayers Father, my body and mind are so incredibly intricate and incomprehensible. I praise you for how you made all the delicate, inner parts of my body. You knit me together in my mother’s womb. I know I am made by your hands wonderfully complex and marvelous! Amen. K-LOVE

“You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb. Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it.”

- Psalm 139:13-14 NLT

8 Praiseworthy Prayers Father, you are a Great and Awesome God. I don’t have to live in fear because you are my Father. Because of what Jesus did on the cross for me, I can call you my Heavenly Father and bring my prayers and praises to you. Thank you for being such a loving Father. K-LOVE

“So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God’s Spirit when he adopted you as his own children. Now we call him, “Abba, Father. “

- Romans 8:15 NLT

8 Praiseworthy Prayers Lord, when I’m overwhelmed, you have promised to be with me. Thank you for starting a good work in me and not giving up on me. I’m grateful that your work will continue until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns. Amen. K-LOVE

“And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.”

- Philippians 1:6 NLT

8 Praiseworthy Prayers Lord, when I want to doubt, you are always there welcoming me to the throne of grace. I am continually receiving mercy and finding grace to help me in my time of need. Thank you that I cannot earn or lose grace; it is so freely given in you Jesus. Amen. K-LOVE

“So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.“

- Hebrews 4:16 NLT
