Brandon Lake continued to dominate the night at the 12th annual K-LOVE Fan Awards after he picked up the trophy for Male Artist of the Year, following a win at the top of the show for Worship Song of the Year, honoring “That’s Who I Praise.”
Nine-time K-LOVE Fan Award winner Lauren Daigle and co-creator of “The Chosen,” Dallas Jenkins, introduced the award with a humorous sketch before passing the mic off to Lake, who accepted the Male Artist accolade for the third year in a row.
“This is the honor of a lifetime,” Lake began. “My greatest dream at 15 was to lead worship in ‘big church,’ and that dream was realized by 16.” The now seasoned worship leader encouraged those in attendance to pray bolder prayers and dream bigger dreams, because he was inspired to do the same.
He also shared how he’s witnessed countless individuals give their lives to Jesus at his shows over the past year, emphasizing the significant role evangelism plays in his artistry. Additionally, he quoted his friend and mentor John Maxwell, who advised him, “Stay in the church, but never stop moving toward the lost” — wisdom he takes to heart as he plots his next arena outing this fall in support of his upcoming album, “King of Hearts.”
During this year’s K-LOVE Fan Awards Weekend, the “Hard Fought Hallelujah” singer surprised fans with a pop-up meet & greet that gave them a chance to snap a photo with the hitmaker himself, shop exclusive merch, pre-order the record and listen to unreleased tracks from the highly anticipated project.
Following the release of “King of Hearts” on June 13, the five-time GRAMMY® winner will join Phil Wickham for another round of the pair’s popular “Summer Worship Nights” tour, beginning in July.
