Brandon Lake scored the first official win of the night and his first ever K-LOVE Fan Award at the 10th anniversary celebration of the fan-voted event when he accepted the statuette for Male Artist of the Year. Lake, who was nominated in an impressive four categories, brought his wife, Brittany, up to the podium with him thanking her for her unwavering support. Collaborations with Maverick City Music, Elevation Worship, Brooke Ligertwood, Thomas Rhett and more; an acclaimed sophomore record centered around mental health; a sold-out headlining tour and a No. 1 hit in “Gratitude” all culminated in Lake’s inaugural Fan Awards win for Male Artist of the Year.

“I’m a local church dude — always have been, always will be,” he told K-LOVE DJ Carlos on the red carpet. “I’m honored to be here and honored to be nominated. It blows my mind… How could I possibly win against all my heroes? Just being here is amazing.”

Afterwards, he sat down with K-LOVE DJ Lauree for an exclusive Q&A during a “K-LOVE Live” segment open to all attendees where he shared the story of writing “Gratitude” and words of wisdom about how to activate the “lion” inside of all of us.

Already a five-time GRAMMY® winner thanks to high-profile collaborations with Maverick City Music and Elevation Worship, Lake is slated to co-headline the “Summer Worship Nights Tour” with Phil Wickham and special guest KB in select cities throughout August and into September.
