K-LOVE New Song Feature: "I Thank God" Housefires + JWLKRS Worship feat. Blake Wiggins & Ryan Ellis

Housefires sets their gratitude ablaze with “I Thank God,” the worship collective’s latest radio single. Previously recorded by Maverick City Music and UPPERROOM, the upbeat track is a careful blend of genres, melding modern pop with elements of house and world music — all culminating to create a celebratory expression of worship.

Featuring Housefires’ current key members Ryan Ellis and Blake Wiggins, as well as Noah Schnacky from JWLKRS Worship, the exuberant anthem hails from the group’s latest project, “How To Start a Housefire Part II.” The 14-song collection follows the first installment released in January.

Together, the two-part album marks a fresh chapter for the evolving musical community that got its start at Atlanta’s Grace Midtown Church in 2014, introducing a fresh slate of both established and up-and-coming voices. In the vein of trailblazers Maverick City Music, both records welcome a host of diverse collaborators and showcase a new generation of songwriters and worship leaders.

“We’ve all been through our own journeys over the last several years. Now we are able to sing songs that look back and remind ourselves of what He’s done, how He’s gotten us through and the ways He’s always been with us,” Wiggins says of Housefires’ latest project. “I’m excited that our testimonies and stories can meet up with the stories of everyone listening to this album, and together, we can grow more in love with Jesus and the person He truly is.”

Housefire’s core heartbeat of collaboration and community is immediately evident on “I Thank God,” as Ellis, Wiggins and Schnacky effortlessly share lead vocals. A standout moment on the collective’s new full-length LP, the track is just now catching fire at radio. Meanwhile, churches around the world have long been singing the triumphant offering that sets our hearts and minds on a Savior who freely gives unconditional love, resolute redemption and countless second chances.
