K-LOVE New Song Feature: "Praise The Lord" Micah Tyler

Singer/songwriter Micah Tyler brings new meaning to P-T-L as he draws on an often-overlooked biblical principle for his latest single, “Praise the Lord.” As Tyler notes, throughout the Old Testament, every time God sent Israel into battle, the Tribe of Judah would go first, leading the charge. The cool part? Judah literally means “praise.”

Tyler wrote this song as a reminder that, regardless of the circumstances we find ourselves in on any given day, worship should always be our immediate reaction — whether we’re singing from the heights of the mountaintop or singing from the depths of the valley.

“Praise should be our first response to what God has done, is doing, and will do,” the former youth pastor contends, adding, “When people tell me that this is their go-to, get-their-day-started-song, I love it! I hope it’s an encouragement to you and the people around you that, no matter what comes against us, there is a God worthy of our worship and praise.”

The Texas native released a hysterical music video to accompany the upbeat pop track. In the unhinged clip, plenty of Tyler’s friends, family and colleagues provide cameos throughout the laugh-out-loud visual that gives new meaning to a “bad day.” The notoriously good-humored singer pulls out all the stops (and at least one really stubborn tooth!) along the way.

“Praise the Lord” is the second single from Tyler’s six-song EP, “People Like Us.” The dance-worthy singalong follows his sixth No. 1, “I See Grace.” Meanwhile, the chart-topper recently released a popular devotional as a complement to previous No. 1 hit “Walking Free.” “Walking Free: Taking Small Steps to a Big God” — his first book — allows his pastoral heart to shine through while dispensing practical advice from a well of 40 years of real-life experience.

The consistent hitmaker has another reason to praise the Lord this summer as he makes his Grand Ole Opry debut July 25.
