New Song Feature: "Fall On Me" NEEDTOBREATHE feat. Maverick City Music

NEEDTOBREATHE recently enlisted Maverick City Music for a dream collaboration on their hit, “Fall On Me.” Initially recorded as a country ballad, featuring ACM and CMA Award winner Carly Pearce, the addition of Maverick City Music turns the tender piano selection into a full-fledged Gospel moment. Penned by NEEDTOBREATHE frontman Bear Rinehart, Elevation Worship visionary and pastor Steven Furtick and award-winning songwriter Jason Ingram, “Fall On Me” speaks to the unconditional love of a father.

“This is a song I wrote about my kids. When I dropped them off at school for the first time, I had a different feeling than I thought I would have. It wasn’t that I was excited for them; it was more that I knew they were going to mess up. That sounds funny, but it’s true. If you’re a parent, you know what that feels like. So the message to them is, ‘Hey, you can come back any time. No matter what you do or how many mistakes you make, you can fall on me,’” says Rinehart, who’s currently in the thick of raising three young sons with his wife, Mary Reames. He adds, “We want this song to be a reminder to all of our fans that no matter where you are, you’re never alone.”

For the reimagined track, Maverick City Music’s Chandler Moore and Naomi Raine join Rinehart on lead vocals. Meanwhile, the transcendent voices of the Maverick City Choir transform the single into a spiritual awakening as the lyrics effortlessly morph from a father/son dynamic to the relationship we share with our Heavenly Father, who calls us His kids.

The Carly Pearce version of “Fall On Me” originally appeared on NEEDTOBREATHE’s 9th studio album, “CAVES.” Last fall, the band kicked off their ambitious “CAVES World Tour” in support of the project. Before they take their buzzworthy live show to Europe and the U.K. later this year, the GRAMMY®-nominated group will visit an additional 26 U.S. cities throughout the spring. Alternative rock outfit Judah & The Lion will once again provide direct support.
