Pat Barrett lights a combustible fuse on new single “I’ve Got A Fire.” His most recent radio offering radiates pure joy as he rekindles the excitement he first felt as a new follower of Christ. With an infectious retro-sheen and a chorus that’s guaranteed to firmly plant itself in your psyche forever, “I’ve Got A Fire” is an amusing sonic detour for Barrett, who has long been known for writing some of Christian music’s biggest hits, such as “Good Good Father,” “Build My Life” and “Praise,” among many others.

“I can still remember those early moments when I said ‘yes’ to Jesus. I was young then, but now, with the years behind me, that same fire still burns brighter,” Barrett reveals. “‘I’ve Got A Fire’ captures that blaze in my soul, a joy that grows as we celebrate the eternal things no one can ever take away.”
Barrett wrote “I’ve Got A Fire” with Ben Smith, Joel Houston and Jonathan Smith; but the upbeat original’s official music video is the real star of the show. The complimentary visual features Barrett’s endearing 74-year-old dad dancing to his son’s latest song. From a local diner to the city streets of the singer’s hometown of Atlanta to its fountain-fueled finale, the clip provides a whimsical backdrop, showcasing the charisma and humor of father and son. Upon release, the video swiftly went viral, igniting one of Barrett’s most playful singles to date.

The energetic selection titles Barrett’s fourth studio effort, which bowed in October, and anchors his supporting set on Brandon Lake’s “King of Hearts Tour,” which resumes March 5, 2026, in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Fans can get a taste of Barrett’s dynamic stage persona on his forthcoming live project, “Break Open,” which captures the first time he performed many of the songs from “I’ve Got A Fire” live. The LP was recorded in August 2025 at Big Church Festival in the U.K. and is slated to drop March 13.
