TobyMac’s feet might be firmly on the ground, but these days, the hitmaker’s head is mainly in the clouds. Starting with his son’s death in 2019, and the loss of other family members and close friends that followed, TobyMac admits to thinking about eternity more and more; and that’s what his new song, “Heaven On My Mind,” is all about.

The breezy single notes that while his life isn’t bad down here, he longs for the day when all will be made right and he’ll be reunited with the ones he loves.

The K-LOVE Fan Award winner recently enlisted Forrest Frank for a remix of the laidback, wistful track on which Frank adds a creative verse and harmonizes with the veteran artist. The partnership with the viral sensation is one in a line of collaborations TobyMac has unveiled as he’s reimagined selections from his ninth studio album — also called “Heaven On My Mind” — with not only Frank, but also his good friend, Jon Reddick, the legendary CeCe Winans and buzzworthy newcomer Jamie MacDonald.

“‘Heaven On My Mind’ is this journey of going from total ashes to crawling to walking to standing up strong. It was me figuring out how to relate to God again, and it led to all these questions, but it also led to this beautiful thing,” Toby says of the full project. “I’ve got a deeper relationship with God than I’ve ever had, because I went through the valley with Him, and I decided I trusted Him.”

The “Nothin’ Sweeter” singer is set to play the entire record, front to back, across a very brief fall stint that encompasses eight cities, marking his final run of shows for the year. The stripped-down “Heaven On My Mind: Start to Finish LIVE” tour will trade his usual arenas for more intimate venues, where fans will be treated to raw versions of the songs and the heartfelt stories behind them.

TobyMac will return at the top of 2026 for his next installment of his multi-artist “Hits Deep Tour.” Next year’s recently announced lineup is slated to include more fan favorites than ever before with Crowder and Jeremy Camp performing hit-filled sets alongside TobyMac and his band, Diverse City.
