New Song Feature: "Good Day" Forrest Frank

Every day is a good day for Forrest Frank, the independent artist who has seemingly taken Christian music by storm thanks to vibey hits like “Good Day.” Fans might recognize Frank as one-half of mainstream duo SURFACES, widely known for their fun-loving single, “Sunday Best.”

But it’s “Good Day” that introduced Frank — who initially began recording under his first name only — to Christian audiences hungry for good times and good vibes, but with a message they can get behind. “Good Day” is just that — a sun-kissed dose of optimism primed for a beach vacation or an afternoon at home by the pool. Frank’s laidback, DIY delivery is part of the appeal of the breezy summer single.

Long before “Good Day” was heard on K-LOVE, it was soundtracking countless reels on TikTok as users adopted the feel-good song as their personal anthem. Frank’s viral traction appears to be the secret to his seemingly overnight success thus far. His social platforms are filled with content challenging the idea that Christian music is boring. His evidence to the contrary? His original beat-heavy songs like “Good Day.”

Frank landed at the summit of Billboard’s Top New Christian Artists year-end chart in 2023 on the strength of bouncy tracks in a similar vein to his debut Christian radio single, as well as high-profile collaborations with ELEVATION RHTHYM, Hulvey and Lecrae. Most recently, he’s also teamed up with Maverick City Music. The Baylor alum never intended to make a career out of music, originally experimenting with production elements as a hobby while he worked a typical desk job. Eventually, he was able to commit to writing, recording and touring full-time thanks to fans’ swift reactions to his art.

The in-demand collaborator was recently nominated for a K-LOVE Fan Award when “Good Day” earned him his first nod for Breakout Single of the Year ahead of the 11th annual fan-voted ceremony set to air exclusively on Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN), May 31, 2024, at 7 p.m. CT / 8 p.m. ET.
