Scoring only his second K-LOVE Fan Award to date, Phil Wickham was awarded Worship Song of the Year for his No. 1 hit, “Homesick For Heaven,” at the 13th annual K-LOVE Fan Awards. “House of David” star Michael Iskander and emerging artist Megan Woods took the stage to present the accolade.

Wrapping the spring leg of his “Song Of The Saints Tour,” Wickham was unable to attend this year’s awards ceremony. He was, however, able to record a video message for fans.

“I love singing about heaven. I love how it changes my perspective. It reminds me who is on the throne, who has already won. It lifts my eyes above the worries and storms of this world up to the One who has already overcome it all,” Wickham shared as he reflected on the message behind the song. “Jesus said, ‘In this world, you will experience tribulation, but take heart, I have overcome the world’ [John 16:33]. So let’s keep living in the hope of heaven and bringing as many people there with us as possible.”

“Homesick For Heaven” is the SoCal native’s most recent No. 1 from his latest studio project, “Song Of The Saints,” which titles his current live outing.

Wickham concluded the first leg of his headlining “Song Of The Saints” arena trek in Fort Wayne, Indiana, on May 24, the same night the 2026 K-LOVE Fan Awards were taped at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville. A second North American run resumes in September with special guest Jamie MacDonald once again joining him on the road.

Previously, Wickham won his first K-LOVE Fan Award when his debut devotional, “On Our Knees: 40 Days to Living Boldly in Prayer,” was named the Book Impact winner in 2023. The father of four will release his next book, “Everyday Hallelujah,” Aug. 11.

Hosted by Lauren Daigle and Sadie Robertson Huff, the 2026 K-LOVE Fan Awards honored the year’s biggest faith-based artists, songs, films, television series, books, podcasts and more as fans voted for their favorites across 11 categories. With winners publicly revealed during an exclusive broadcast on May 29 via Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN), the show is now available to watch on demand on TBN+ with an encore network presentation airing June 5.
