Newcomer Riley Clemmons is challenging listeners with a question: What if every broken place you’ve ever been was a Godsend?
The songstress explores her answer to this question on her sophomore album, Godsend, for which Clemmons recently released a 17-track deluxe edition. The robust collection features a handful of fresh selections and reimagined originals, including a duet with country singer/songwriter Brett Young on the title-cut. The collaboration already joins “Over and Over,” which boasts a cameo from country sweetheart Lauren Alaina. Whether she’s singing with an artist from another genre or stepping out solo, all of Clemmons’ music comes from real life.
“Releasing Godsend has truly been such a special and meaningful chapter in my life so far. I collected songs for this body of work much like I collected every experience I found myself in within the past couple of years. Innately, the songs started telling the stories of my highest and lowest thoughts and emotions,” Clemmons shares. “I’m so excited to extend the album with Godsend (Deluxe). My hope is that anyone who listens might find themselves somewhere in these melodies and stories and be reminded that so much of the pain, healing, and joy we experience is more common and unifying than we could ever imagine.”
The updated version of Godsend includes a string of radio hits from Clemmons: “Fighting For Me,” “Keep On Hoping” and “For The Good.” She shared these songs and several fan favorites from her self-titled debut on the road this spring with Jeremy Camp. This summer, she’ll share the iconic Red Rocks Amphitheatre stage with Tauren Wells, Matthew West, Mac Powell, Cory Asbury and Andrew Ripp on night two of a double-header when “K-LOVE Presents LIVE at Red Rocks” Aug. 4-5, 2022.
