Are you a glutton for album stats? Well we are too, and we have them! You'll be hitting "purchase album" over and over again as we splurge on the top 20 Billboard Christian Albums of 2020!


1. Look Up Child 

Lauren Daigle's album Look Up Child was released September 7, 2018 as Daigle's 3rd studio album. Receiving Platinum status and a GRAMMY award for Best Contemporary Christian Music Album in 2019, this beautiful and calming set of songs speaks to one's journey and struggle towards God. 

 


2. JESUS IS KING 

Kanye West's is a well-known R&B rapper. However, when releasing Jesus Is King, his 9th studio album on October 25, 2019, it was written with the intention of a Christian theme described by West himself as "an expression of the gospel." Ranking number 2 on the US Billboard Top Christian Albums and number 1 on the US Billboard top Gospel Albums, if you like a different style of Christian music with a fast-paced rap behind it, this is the album for you!


3. Burn the Ships 

Reaching over 500,000 sales and securing it as a Gold-certified album, for KING & COUNTRY's Burn the Ships was the Australian-born brother duo's 3rd album released on October 5, 2018. The 42:20 minute-long album came four years after the release of their second album Run Wild. Live Free. Love Strong., winning a Billboard Music Award for Top Christian Album 2019, GMA Dove Award for Pop/Contemporary Album of the Year 2019, and a GRAMMY Award for Best Contemporary Christian Music Album 2020. Needless to say, this album is Fire!

 


4. How Can it Be 

It's no surprise Lauren Daigle appears twice in the top 5 Billboard Christian Albums,  given that her first debut album and first EP How Can it Be sold over 1 million copies in the United States alone. Released on April 14, 2015, Daigle received a GMA Dove Award for Song of the Year and Pop/Contemporary Recorded Song of the Year, as well as reaching double platinum status. 


5. Precious Memories Collection

Billboard Music Award for Top Christian Album, Alan Jackson's Precious Memories Collection was released on February 28, 2006, as a two-disc collection of previously unreleased songs written all about himself. This was Jackson's 13th studio album and first-ever gospel album by the veteran country artist. 


6. Therapy Session 

Topping the Billboard Christian Albums and Billboard Top Rap Albums at number 1, NF's 2nd studio album Therapy Session is a bit darker than your average upbeat and soul searching Christian albums. NF really dug down deep inside when creating this Best Rap/Hip Hop Album of the Year and GMA Dove Award for Rap/Hip Hop Album of the Year. Yet another great rap Christian album!


7. Graves into Gardens (LIVE) 

Released on May 1, 20,20 as the world had just entered the year-long isolation due to a pandemic, Elevation Worship released Graves into Gardens, their 8th live and 12th overall album to the public. The American contemporary worship album provides more than what you were asking for, with guest appearances by some of your favorite K-LOVE artists such as Brandon Lake, Cody Carnes, Kari Jobe, and Tauren Wells. The certified Gold album is Elevation Worships highest ranking and most world-renowned project to date peaking at number 1 on the US Billboard's Top Christian Albums Chart and number 2 on the Official Christian & Gospel Albums Chart in the United Kingdom.

Elevation Worship's Chris Brown shared that "many of our songs come from sermons that Pastor Steven (founder of the worship group) preaches." All nine tracks featured on the album were recorded in one evening at Elevation Church Ballantyne Campus in North Carolina where they have recorded all of their music. 


8. Voice of Truth: Ultimate Hits Collection

Search no longer for your favorite Casting Crowns songs, as the band released a collective effort of all their hit songs bundled into one album, Voice of Truth - The Ultimate Collection, a must-have for Casting Crowns followers.


9. I Can Only Imagine: The Very Best of MercyMe

Released on February 2, 2018, to align with the 2018 film starring Dennis Quaid, "I Can Only Imagine," has become the 3rd greatest hits anthology released by MercyMe, the Christian rock-inspired band. These 13 tracks will leave you wanting even more!


10. Awake

If you like Classic Christian Rock, the 7th studio album Awake by GRAMMY-nominated band Skillet, is one to definitely check out. Released on August 25, 2009, the 12 track certified Gold album ranked number 2 on the Billboard 200 and went on to sell over 2 million copies ranking it a double-platinum album and winning the Top Christian Album at the Billboard Music Awards in 2011. 


11. Rescue Story

Rescue Story, Zach Williams 2nd released studio album on October 4, 2019, peaked at number 2 on the US Christian Albums chart. The 10 track album features a guest appearance by country legend Dolly Parton and went on to win a GMA Dove Award for Recorded Music Packaging of the Year.


12. Mansion

Certified Gold with over 500,000 sales and topping out at number 1 on the Billboard Christian Albums Chart, NF's debut studio album Mansion, released back on March 31, 2015, shocked the world with a new and inventive blend of Christian Hip Hop music. 


13. People 

GMA Dove Award winner for Worship Album of the Year, People was Australian native group UNITED's 14th live released album. The contemporary worship music group recorded their first released record in over a decade at their Sydney Australia Hills Campus on November 18, 2018, and it is still gaining traction worldwide. 


14. Only Jesus

Casting Crowns hits the top 20 charts again with the release of their 8th studio album Only Jesus. Nominated for a 2019 GMA Dove Award for Song of the Year, and winning a GRAMMY for Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song 2020, as well as a 2019 GMA Dove Award for Song of the Year, 2018 album continues to give back to Christian followers.


15. My Gift

If you have listened to any genre of music in the last 10 years, you are sure to know American powerhouse Carrie Underwood. The full-length Christmas inspired album My Gift was released on September 25, 2020, just six months into the COVID-19 Pandemic. on the 11 track album, Underwood's eldest son accompanies her in the traditional "The Little Drummer Boy" track, and even singer, songwriter, record producer, actor, and many more accolades...John Legend even makes an appearance. The album ranked # 1 on the United Kingdom's Country Albums and US Billboard Christian Albums, Top Country Albums, and Top Holiday Albums charts. 


16. Victory (Live)

Bethel Music Label's 11th live album and 16th overall released on January 25, 2019, has a variety of musical genres mixed into the collection of songs that will keep you wanting even more. Featured fellow worship leaders Josh Baldwin, Cory Asbury, Brian & Jenn Johnson, The McClures, and more, make appearances throughout the album as they join in on the collective's worldwide commercial success.


17. Here As In Heaven 

On July 31, 2015, Elevation Worship released their 5th live recorded album Here As In Heaven. With an audience of over 16,000 people when recorded at the Time Warner Cable Arena in North Carolina, there is no wonder this album topped the charts at number 1 on the Billboard Christian Albums and was not only certified Gold with over 500,000 sales but was also nominated for a 2016 GMA Dove Award for Worship Album of the Year.


18. Peace

Bethel Music Label released their album Peace at midnight on April 10, 2020, as the collectives' 2nd studio album. The 12 anthology is a mixture of both original tracks and remixed worship songs nominating it for the 2020 GMA Dove Awards Worship Album of the Year. Also featuring artists from the collective, Cory Asbury, Josh Baldwin, Brian & Jenn Johnson, Kari Jobe,  and We The Kingdom make appearances throughout the contemporary worship masterpiece. 


19. Chain Breaker

Peaking at number two on the Billboard Christian Albums Chart, Chain Breaker was Zach Williams debut studio album which he released on December 14, 2016. Supported by four singles, three of the four went on to become top 10 on the Billboard Hot Christian Songs chart. Having great traction out of the gate, Williams won a GMA Dove Award for Pop/Contemporary Recorded Song of the Year and was nominated for a 2019 Billboard Music Award. With stats like this, you must check this album out!
